You can’t mention Danish rap without mentioning Loke Deph. He is recognized as one of the country’s most unique lyricists and has a characteristic, exuberant delivery that makes what he does sound easy. But that is far from the truth. Deph is equal parts cocky, sensitive and constantly reinventing the genre.
He established himself as a mammoth in the underground as 1/3 of the alternative rap group Kaput, through his countless legendary feature verses and the series of “Weekendmixtapes” that he released with his partner-in-crime, Esben. His releases have all become collectors’ items, and it sometimes seems as if he can’t put a foot wrong in his artistic work.
Today he is active in the electronic rap group “Solkur”, which he started together with producer Magnus “Albert” Wanscher, known among other things as one half of the successful duo Benal.
Ask your favorite rapper – he is inspired by Loki Deph. And in that way he raises the standard on the music scene.
